"People are dying down here!"

Surfing around to get a clear picture of what's happening in New Orleans, and found an interview with New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin (Democrat). It ends up in tears, as both Nagin and the interviewer are outraged by how the President is spinning in press conferences instead of doing anything to the crisis. Nagin compare the lack of presidential action in New Orleans to the fast actions after September 11th, and openly say that the lack of resources to save lives is partially because of the war in Iraq. He ask for every Greyhound bus in the country to "get their asses moving to New Orleans" and give a clear picture of what is happening in the city.

New York Times has an article called The United States of Shame on a President who don't seem to be able to understand anything about the consequences of his actions. And Michael Moore has sent an open letter to the President, saying
"No, Mr. Bush, you just stay the course. It's not your fault that 30 percent of New Orleans lives in poverty or that tens of thousands had no transportation to get out of town. C'mon, they're black! I mean, it's not like this happened to Kennebunkport. Can you imagine leaving white people on their
roofs for five days? Don't make me laugh! Race has nothing -- NOTHING -- to do with this! You hang in there, Mr. Bush. Just try to find a few of our Army helicopters and send them there. Pretend the people of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast are near Tikrit."
